How to Customise Ringtones For Contacts and Groups in WhatsApp

• The  Applications or apps for short are way of bringing power of laptops and PC in your handheld devices called as mobiles.
• The number of features available makes it all but impossible to remeber and exploit the apps to fullest capabilities.
• #WhatsApp is a power social media app that lets all users to create groups of 255 odd like minded people with common interests or keep friends and families together in this ultra-fast life. 

A question was asked whether one can assign a separate ringtones for notifications in WhatsApp Ringtones, both for calls and messages individually and group wise

The answer is YES

For Android Phones Only 

Assigning ringtone to a group

• Open WhatsApp 
• Select/tap on three vertical dots (top left corner of screen) on the group you want to assign a Ringtone
• Select/tap on "Group info"
• Select/tap on "Custom notification"
• Tick custom notification
• Tap on "Notification Tone". A  drop down list of ring tones available is displayed for you to select. You can add a  ringtone if you want to set personal one.
• Press OK

Assigning ringtone to a Contact

• Open WhatsApp 
• Select/tap on three vertical dots (top left corner of screen) on the group 
• Select/tap on "Group info"
• Scroll down the member list and select contact (say "ABC") you want to assign a specific ringtone
• Select/tap "view ABC"
• Select/tap on "Custom notification"
• Tick custom notification
• Tap on "Notification Tone". A  drop down list of ring tones available is displayed for you to select. You can add a  ringtone if you want to set personal one.
• Press OK
